Earlier this December, Miss Universe contestant, Alyssa Boston dressed as a cannabis leaf during the competition's "national costume" segment as a way of showing support for the country's 2018 legalization of recreational cannabis.
In an instagram post dated from December 7, 2019 the contestant, who we're sad to report did not win, says her costume, "was inspired by Canada’s recent legalization of cannabis but most importantly to end the stigma globally in hopes to spark more research for medicinal purposes." We can't argue with that!
