Alien Rock Candy Strain Review

Alien Rock Candy Strain Review
Gifted Curators offers “DC weed at its finest.” One of our cannabis connoisseurs, Kush-n-Pain, is sampling legendary strains from Gifted Curators to review for Urban Aroma readers. Read on for Kush-n-Pain’s review of Alien Rock Candy.

Alien Rock Candy

Alien Rock Candy (ARC) is one of those cultivars that brings happiness upon first inhalation. This batch is so whited over that it looks like St. Patrick's Day themed confections, but the smell makes me hesitate to reach for a lighted magnifying glass. I just keep sniffing and snuffling like a dog encountering a particularly fascinating stink.
Alien Rock Candy is an 80/20 indica-dominant plant made by crossing Tahoe Alien with Sour Double. The original breeders are Alien Genetics, who are also known for Fruity Pebbles.
The aroma is that of sweet, pungent oranges. It's curious how something that gives you cottonmouth can also make you drool. The buds are medium to thick, sticky spongy spades that are lumpy like the namesake. The colors are true to dark green with some purple, and orange-reddish hairs. It's pretty much trichome country, with resin heads appearing like a heavy morning dew. Yup, she's a looker.

Two Tokes Test

The flavor is woodsy citrus. I don't taste oranges though; lemon is the aftertaste. Clearly the terpenoids valencene and limonene are in significant portions.
The high takes less than two minutes to get started, and by five minutes my whole upper body feels flush and lightly vibrant. While this may be a very indica hybrid, the first 45 minutes have been total inspiration to function and accomplish. I've been going 15 hours, and this isn't making me sleepy. On the other hand, I don't feel amped, just good and ready.
I was experiencing leg muscle tension with light spasticity but that has calmed. Body effects of the terpenes myrcene, humulene and caryophyllene are present and appreciatively felt. I played a little TaiQiGong for a bit to oxygenate and move the bones, which was enough time for the couch effect to kick in.
Let's get into genetics. ARC's parent Sour Double is bred from Sour Diesel x Sour Bubble. The sativa Sour D is on the job but here comes the extremely indica S. Bub on time for the night shift. Alien Tahoe is Alien Kush x Tahoe OG Kush; both of them are 'after work, don't operate heavy equipment' med/recs. 'Nuff said.

Final Hit

I would absolutely recommend this to most, with a reminder for noobs to dose responsibly. The cerebral ride levels out in about an hour and a gentle descent takes over. Alien Rock Candy is good social flower when taken in moderation.
Rating: On the Ephrata 1-10 Scale I give this a 9.4. I feel this batch is in a better class of functional herbs.
