Known as “the Oscars of advertising,” the Clio Awards recognize innovation and creative excellence in advertising, design and communication, as judged by advertising professionals. Last year the iconic program added Clio Cannabis to its lineup, celebrating the creators at the forefront of cannabis marketing and communications. This year, the awards show took place virtually as part of the Emerge Virtual Cannabis Conference.
Clio Cannabis sets the bar for creative work in a rapidly growing industry, elevating creative contributions from top talent and agencies. A jury of industry leaders from agencies and brands selected the winners, which included Grand Awards going to the famed CBD brand Charlotte’s Web and the high-tech concentrates vaporizer company Puffco. Kiva Confections also received the Grand Award in Public Relations for the 2019 “It’s All Gravy” campaign for the company’s weed-infused Turkey Gravy.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Snoop Dogg for his decades of work using his talent, celebrity and creative output to “consistently portray cannabis culture in a positive light, shift cultural norms, and introduce a wide variety of new products to consumers.”
Last Prisoner Project was given the first-ever Impact Award, recognizing the work the nonprofit has done to intervene, advocate and provide awareness in overturning unjust laws and policies affecting those incarcerated for nonviolent cannabis offenses.
